President report: read and accepted
Treasurers report: read and accepted with $132,664 in bank; 2010 dues 111/980 @$243 average donation
Secretary report: read and accepted
Fire Chief report: 2 calls last month, Pack Test w/med. release this year-will board approve $100/ff for medical expenses, Fire season starts end of April-severity patrol starts May 3, Drivers training May 1&2-Thanks Glen Heithold for getting and returning the cones, Glen Heithold , Mark Keegan, Steve Nathensen, and Jack Smades for helping set up.Thanks Vern Tocker and Bob Neberman for helping evaluate drivers. We want to thank our 6 new firefighter volunteers, Jesse Cooper, Joel Alban, Justin Galion, Don Snyder, Jim Bellington and Tim McFarlan. We have Walker locks for community gates available for $20…allowing fire dept. to access property. We have a new Defensible Space sign-thanks Joe Maisonnueve for setting it up. Firewise Community info with slash drop-off spots in Mayer/Skull Valley. Last meeting for Jill as Fire Chief,. Read and accepted.
MOTION 041010a: To approve the following expenditures over $500 for the month of April and authorize the Treasurer to make payments accordingly: 1.Approve emergency expenditure authorized by President on April 1st for the purchase of medical supplies from PMI Supply for $539.72. 2. Approve expense reimbursement to Greg Stava for $694.74 for cost of dues drive materials. 3. To assist fire fighters with the cost of obtaining medical releases for pack tests up to $100 per fire fighter. ***PASSED
MOTION 041010b: To rescind resolution 022710 authorizing a Board approved set of WFPA Bylaws and approves an amended set of Bylaws that includes legal review/comment by WFPA general council in a letter dated March 30, 2010. These Board approved WFPA Bylaws will be submitted for membership review and approval by majority vote of members at the Annual Membership Meeting to be held on May 29, 2010. ***PASSED w/discussion about mailing/posting of Bylaws
Fire Chief Selection Committee: 1. Job Description, 2. Minimum Qualifications, 3. Further development of safety standards, 4. Help training. Committee spoke with four candidates…recommendation well qualified,paramedic,extensive grant writing and maintenance experience, and District formation experience.

MOTION 041010c: To accept the recommendations of the Fire Chief Selection Committee and select Bryan Smith as WFPA’s next Fire Chief and authorize the President to sign an employment agreement with this candidate for a one year term. ***PASSED with Mark Keegan, Paul Nies, and Joe Rech for…Greg Stava, Chuck Bowers, and John O’Hanesian against, Tim McFarlan breaking tie to pass.
MOTION 041010d: The Board approves a resolution to authorize creation of the WFPA Fire Wise Committee to be chaired by Charles Parrack consistent with the committee charter documents submitted to the WFPA. ***PASSED
New Business: Discussion on fidelity bond insurance…tabled until next month.
Fire District Formation Committee: Gave current status/statistics and left open for community input on website.
Dan Sullivan’s letter to Board: Paul Nies commented and we are moving forward with
OSHA compliance
