Monday’s Call – 01/28/2013

Late Monday morning a call came in for a stranded motorist up on Amulet Mine Rd. The person was quite a ways up and could only be reached with 4wd vehicles. The patient was alive but very cold and it is believed he had been there for two days.

This was a joint response between Walker Fire, Prescott Engine 75, Battalion 3, Lifeline, Native Air and YSCO.

Finding the patient and his vehicle was a challenge because there were a couple of forks in the road on the way to where he was parked.
Lifeline personal rode to the scene in Walker Rescue 81 because 81 has 4wd and the Lifeline rig did not. The crew on Engine 75 successfully used Walker’s extrication equipment to safely remove the patient.

The patient was taken from the scene to the Walker Station and then airlifted to Phoenix for treatment.

Walker Fire’s role was to provide medical care and establish a safe landing zone at the station.

And The Survey Says . . .

To all WFPA members that participated in our year end survey… A BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!

We received 91 responses through the survey cutoff on December 29th.

The information you provided is invaluable in providing;
1) basic demographics of our member base
2) the ranking of the WFPA activities and services as priorities versus the “nice to haves” as viewed by our membership
3) a scorecard that we can measure ourselves for further improvement and most importantly,
4) candid, constructive suggestions/comments that your board, its committees and volunteers will be evaluate and use to further improve your WFPA.

We are pleased with the response and information you have provided and would like to share the survey, in its entirety, with our membership. We are mindful of the confidential nature of your responses and reviewed the narrative responses to ensure that individual privacy is protected. As we have taken these lengths, we cannot identify individual members that have either requested a response or offered to volunteer. We ask that you direct any inquiry or request to the WFPA Board at walker-bod@walkerfire.org .

Stay tuned for more to come as a result of your feedback and again, thank you for your participation, your support and your caring for the WFPA and the community we all share.
