Walker is such a wonderful place to just “be” and it keeps getting better with new people and events for everyone to enjoy. We are definitely a growing community.
We know you all want to protect our community the best way possible. Many have property here and some invest in our community not only with the gift of money but also with their time, which is greatly appreciated. We need everyone possible to participate, whether it be as a firefighter or helping out with Walker Day or on a setup or cleanup committee for an event. Everyone can help in some way. Our firefighters and medical volunteers certainly do their part and we need you to do yours also.
We know the price of most everything will be going up due to fuel costs and this makes it difficult for all of us. Operating as a volunteer organization, we do not receive tax dollars and must rely on contributions and fund-raisers for operating funds. It takes a great deal of money just to keep things running and operating. WFPA expenses will increase right along with everything else. Please be as generous as possible with your contributions, as they are needed for so many things. Operating expenses, insurances, equipment upgrades and repairs, tools, training for our volunteers so that they can better protect us all, just to name a few. Ask yourself, if your Walker property would be so valuable without your home or trees on it.
So few carry the burden for so many, are you doing your part?
