Installing a Generator

Please read the manufactures recommendations as to where to place it. The generator needs to be a certain distance from the home.  The exhaust, from the generator, should not be near any home VENTING system.  If you place the generator exhaust near a vent, the exhaust will enter the vent and your home could be consumed with the exhaust fumes.  Symptoms of inhaling exhaust fumes or carbon monoxide are, dizziness, nausea, headaches and a flushed face.  Leave the home immediately and call 911.  Carbon Monoxide monitors are as important as smoke detectors.  What  great gifts these would make for family members and  friends.  Please remember to change the batteries at least twice a year, some models have an  “alert” sound when the batteries are low.
