Monday’s Call 01/28/2013
Late Monday morning a call came in for a stranded motorist up on Amulet Mine Rd. The person was quite a ways up and could only be reached with 4wd vehicles. The patient was alive but very cold and it is believed he had been there for two days.
This was a joint response between Walker Fire, Prescott Engine 75. Battalion 3, Lifeline, Native Air and YSCO.
Finding the patient and his vehicle was a challenge because there were a couple of forks in the road on the way to where he was parked. Lifeline personal rode to the scene in Walker Rescue 81 because 81 has 4wd and the Lifeline rig did not. The crew on Engine 75 successfully used Walker’s extrication equipment to safely remove the patient.
The patient was taken from the scene to the Walker Station and then airlifted to Phoenix for treatment.
Walker Fire’s role was to provide medical care and establish a safe landing zone at the station.
