Lost Akita Dog

A black Akita mix with blond trim on its neck and shoulder was lost by a visitor during Walker Days.  The dog was last known to have been seen in Lynx Creek near the Pink Car Hill on Tuesday.

It answers to Nikita.  The owner is Heather at (928) 925-9200

Community Need

We are in need of about 20-30 5-gallon buckets to be donated for Walker Day. If you can help, please contact our Walker Day Coordinator John Ohanesian @ 928-445-8358.

Thanks!!!!

The Doce Fire

The Doce Fire started today at around 11:30 and is already up to 2000 acres. There are windy conditions which are likely to persist.

The fire is in the northwest area of Prescott and moving further north so it would seem like it coming to Walker is not possible.

The Courier says it was probably human caused. That it grew to 2000 acres in just six hours underscores why the burn restrictions that are imposed every year are so important.

You can follow the story below;

Walker Day Coming SOON!!!!

Hey Folks,

Walker Day is just around the corner on June 22nd. We are looking forward to a great day here in Walker. The Rock and Roll Band is in tune, the cake pans are being cleaned and the yard sale items are overflowing. We have rented a bouncy castle for the kids and the face painters are warming up their hands. It’s all happening!

For more information:  http://walkerfire.org/walker-day/

Hope to see you all there!

Stage 2 Fire Restriction to start June 19

Stage 2 fire restrictions will be starting June 19th at 8am. We have been in Stage 1 restrictions since May 22 but now more stringent restrictions will start next Wednesday.

The following link defines both Stage 1 and Stage 2 restrictions. It is likely that restrictions will remain in effect until a week or two into the monsoon season.
