Springtime

Springtime

April seems to be when all of us Flatlanders pick up our visits to the mountains.  It’s also the beginning of the social season for the WFPA.

We had originally planned to have the first Bingo the 3rd Saturday in April, but that turns out to be the Easter weekend.  So, NO BINGO IN APRIL.

We will start the PANCAKE BREAKFASTS on the last Saturday in April (the 26th).  Then it’s the last Saturday of each month through October.  The only exception will be June when the last Saturday will be WALKER DAY!

WALKER DAY IS JUNE 28

Don’t forget to put that on your calendar and start saving your RUMMAGE SALE ITEMS!  We will post times for you to drop off articles starting in May, but it’s time to start planning your Spring Cleaning.

Also remember the Walker Church/Sunday School will soon begin it’s outdoor Sunday services at 10:00 a.m.  These Non-Denominational services have been held since the 1960’s at Old Walker Rd and Sunday School road.

It’s time to check your batteries in your Smoke Detector and Co2 Detector.  Is your Fire Extinguisher current?  Do you have an Evacuation plan?

Be Firewise and enjoy a great summer.

Walker Day

Hey Folks,

Please mark you calendars for this years Walker Day celebration that will be held at the Walker Fire Station on June, 28 from 11am-2pm. As always, we will be kicking off the day with our massive community yard sale beginning at 9am. Walker Day features include live music, our great picnic lunch, (for only $5), an old fashion cake walk, bouncy house and games for the kids, 50/50 drawing and a silent auction.

But wait… there’s more! This year, we are adding to the festivities with an Art Fair with as many as 30 area artists, (please see attached flyer for details).
